Call for Papers-
Do you have expertise in specific areas of Deaf education? Have you presented at other workshops or conferences and have an interest in educating other teachers or professionals like yourself? Do you enjoy collaborating with other professionals and helping teachers help Deaf and hard of hearing children and families succeed? Did you enjoy attending the 2004 conference last year and want to make sure that the 2005 conference is also a success?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, we have an opportunity for you! The Statewide Resource Committee is currently looking for Teachers, LEAs, SLPs, and other professionals in the field of Deaf Education to present at the 2005 Indiana Deaf Educators' Conference. The call for papers is currently listed on the Outreach website (www.deaf-kids.com) and is in the attached email. We invite proposals for papers that address a wide variety of issues in the education of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The HANDSALIVE! Young Deaf Arts Festival is proud to announce the 5th annual Student Talent Show. The show is a formal talent show in which ISD students demonstrate their talents by expressing their creativity and originality in the following areas: ASL poetry, ASL storytelling, skits, ASL-song interpretation & dance. The public is invited to the Talent Show Finale on March 23 rd, and this is a great way for mainstream students to meet peers who attend ISD and for others who want a chance to interact with Deaf individuals and improve their signing skills. School groups may be able to attend dress rehearsals or the elementary, middle, or high school talent shows if there is space. For more information, contact Amber Bahler at ABahler@isfd.state.in.us or Linda Hines at LHines@isfd.state.in.us. |
