Outreach Staff

 

Administration

Cindy Lawrence serves as Director of Outreach Services She works closely with the Indiana Department of Education, local Directors of Special Education, First Steps, and other agencies providing services for deaf and hard of hearing children as well as administrating the department. As a licensed educational audiologist at ISD since 1986, she has served as a preschool and elementary school audiologist, Director of Assessment Services and now as the Director of Outreach. Joanie Jones also serves as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Outreach and for the Multidisciplinary Team. She schedules appointments for specialized testing, monitors the Central Files and handles a myriad of responsibilities in the Assessment Center. Case Conference Team

 

Catherine Rahn serves as the secretary for the case conference team. She schedules about 500 conferences a year. Catherine can be reached at crahn@isd.k12.in.us and at (317) 920-6225 TTY/Voice.

Carol Wild, having worked at ISD since 1978, serves as one of two case conference coordinators. She facilitates conferences, annual case reviews and acts as liaison between the Local Education Agency and ISD. Her primary focus is conferences for students in middle school and high school. Early Intervention and Family Life Team   earlyinterventions@isd.k12.in.us

                                                 Jodee Crace , the Early Intervention Coordinator, has been involved in the Human Development field for over 22 years. Currently, she networks, partners, and trains with various stakeholders in providing high quality and unbiased comprehensive early intervention services. Michelle Coleman, the Early Intervention Coordinator, brings seven years experience from working as a First Steps Intake Coordinator in Central Indiana. Michelle has a degree in Deaf Education and Elementary Education as well as her First Steps Credentials. Diane Hazel JonesDiane Hazel Jones, who has worked at ISD since 1973, is the Family Resource Coordinator provides a variety of services to families with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children from the age of 5 to 21. The services include: educational visits, family workshops, and education consultations for families and professionals. Assessment Team

Pam Burchett, a licensed social worker on the Assessment Team, has been employed at ISD since 1986. She is the initial contact person for new families who are seeking admission into ISD or for local schools who are interested in referring a student for an evaluation. Linda Charlebois has served as an educational audiologist since 1978, providing services for ISD's middle school and high school students, as well as children throughout the state from birth through the age of 21. Louise Fitzpatrick, having served in a variety of capacities at ISD since 1982, is the Language Specialist for the assessment team. Janet Fuller is an Educational Consultant contracting with the Outreach department.  Her focus is helping public schools develop programs for their Deaf/hard-of-hearing students using spoken English. Debbie Liebrich, the second audiologist, provides audiological services primarily for students preschool through elementary age. Having worked at ISD since 1998, Deb also provides services for children 0-21 throughout the state of Indiana. Carolyn Pimentel has a M.A. degree in Developmental Psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology with specialization in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children.  She began working at ISD in 1981.  Carolyn primarily concentrates her psychological assessments with students who attend the public schools.  She may be reached at cpimentel@isd.k12.in.us and at (317) 920-6230 TTY/Voice or Video Phone 866-971-7381.

 

 

Shannon Stafford, one of the four audiologists, provides services for students from public schools who are seen during assessments and through First Steps referrals.

Terri Waddell-Motter has a M.A. degree in Developmental Psychology and Specialist degree (Psy.S) in School Psychology with specialization in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children.  She began working at ISD in 1993.  Terri primarily completes psychological assessments for Middle School and High School ISD students.  She may be reached at twaddellmotter@isd.k12.in.us and at Video Phone 866-971-7679.

 

 

Speech & Language Team

Julie Buck is one of three speech-language pathologists and earned her Master's degree in speech-language pathology in 1986.  She has worked in a variety of situations involving children and adults.  Having worked at ISD since 1993, Julie provides speech services for students & on a consultation basis.  Julie is married and is the mother of three girls and a boy. Holly Geeslin, is an audiologist and one of three speech-language pathologists who works with deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Indiana’s birth to three First Steps system and as a contract SLP at the Indiana School for the Deaf. Jacqueline D. Hall-Katter is one of three speech-language pathologists who contract with the Indiana School for the Deaf. She has been working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for nine years. Jackie is the owner of her own business, Katter Speech Services. She is the mother of four children; two of whom are hard of hearing. Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy Team
